Low energy? Fair weather golfer?
I have to say I struggle a little at this time of year. With the clocks changing and the daylight hours dwindling, it’s very easy to start getting lethargic and going into a kind of hibernation mode. It becomes very easy to put the clubs away, to push away the idea of practicing your golf, and ‘ohh, I’ll just wait until the Masters starts to play again’. Once you fall into this annual cycle it can be very difficult to break out of it. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but living where we do you’re cutting out 40% of the golfing season. If you get a chance, and can manage it, wrap up, get the waterproofs on, put the hand warmers in the pockets and grab the golf clubs and get out there. Experience the golf course as the autumn leaves are falling, or as the frost is just lifting. Have fun playing in some very different conditions, and learn how to hit some different shots to control your ball flight in the wind. You may find that getting out over the winter months and playing golf year round not only improves your game and the enjoyment of it, but keeps the mind and body sharp...bonus you can eat your Christmas dinner guilt free... PS, I find Vitamin D an absolute must at this time of year...try it and see if your low energy levels change!
