Planning your golf week?

Blog 10/365

Planning your golfing week? Sundays are a great day...rest, relaxation with friends and family, and sometimes some golf. Maybe you played on Saturday, and the clubs are getting a scrub, and prepared for your next adventure on the course. Maybe you spend your afternoon or evening getting prepared for a busy week ahead, setting out clothes or uniforms, or sorting out a house that has been turned upside down by the kids. It’s also a great day to reflect on your golf game. What went well this week? What was my favourite shot? Why made me laugh or smile on the course? Is there an area of my game that needs a look at on the Driving Range or by my coach? Maybe things didn’t go so well, and you’re feeling down about a missed putt, or having to hand over the money to your grinning friend, who of course will gloat all week, and probably send a few messages your way to remind you of their glorious victory. But what if you took the knocks, the poor shots, the bad course management choices, and looked at them as opportunities for growth in your game? That hooked drive becomes a reason to fix a grip that you have got away with for far too long. The duffed pitch becomes the impetus to spend an hour in the back garden hitting it into the bucket from 20 yards, and the decision to lay up on the drivable par 4 makes you rethink your on course strategy. Out of all suffering in the course can come great insights and in fact long term benefits for your game. So next time you make a mess of it, just remember that it may be the start of something great in the future.
